Penny Green

Penny’s work in ceramics takes many forms depending on its intended placement.

From small figurative sculptures presented as miniature worlds in tableaux form, to larger sculptural pieces designed for public placement.

She often incorporates references from the past, such as historical figures, artefacts and events, in order to inform her work, thus enabling a conversation between the source material and the contemporary concepts the new body of work explores.

The opportunity to make new work in historical contexts, either through site-specific pieces or by placing contemporary work within historical settings is therefore, very appealing to Penny and reflective of her approach to ceramics more broadly
