Henry Moore - The Elephant Skull Etchings

The elephant skull, gifted to Henry Moore by the naturalist Sir Julian Huxley and his wife held significant prominence within Moore's collection of found objects in his studio. Positioned on a turntable, Moore initially created representational studies of the skull from various perspectives. However, he soon became captivated by its complexity and shifted his focus to the inner forms, examining small areas to highlight their landscape qualities. This portfolio of etchings was printed in an edition of 100 copies in 1969 -1970.

Adam’s Gallery is pleased to offer edition 83/100. All 28 etchings are available.

She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and the Society of Wood Engravers (SWE). In 2018, she was elected an Honorary Fellow of Worcester College, Oxford.

Katherine Jones RA - Selected Prints

Katherine Jones makes distinctive images that are inhabited by ordinary objects, spaces and buildings. Often the structures depicted are fragile or vulnerable, covered or transparent. They are a framework the artist uses to begin to question perceptions of safety and danger. These issues are under the surface of her everyday as an artist –mother and an individual in a challenged world environment.

Jones is a painter and a printmaker. Her ideas are often exchanged between watercolour, etchings and collagraph prints. She builds layers, overlays marks and colour to create rich nuanced surfaces. In 2022 Katherine was appointed a Royal Academician.

Stephen Chambers RA - Screen Prints 2008 - Present

tephen Chambers studied at Winchester School of Art from 1978 to 1979 and then at St Martin’s School of Art from 1979 to 1982. He graduated with a Masters from Chelsea School of Art in 1983.
