Louise Wishart

After completely a degree in Textile Design and Surface Decoration Lou worked for a London based design studio, regularly exhibited at trade shows in London, New York and Hamburg. Moving out to Reigate, Lou continued to design commercially for a Textile design agent but combined it with personal pieces securing commissions to paint murals both here in Reigate at Maison Du Velo, Lesbourne Road and in the South of France, plus a Seven piece commission for a local Boutique restaurant.

Lou completed a Masters in Illustration in 2015. Her Textile Design background is ever present in her use of colour and texture, often using found ephemera or hand printed papers combined with dyes and watercolours.

“Although I enjoy the challenge of working commercially, I have always painted, especially exploring architecture and this where I can escape to exotic colours of Marrakech, the grandeur of a Parisian street or the simplicity of a simple doorway.”
