‘The Valley of Vision: a Close Encounter’  A gallery talk surrounded by original works by palmer and William Blake as well as fine art reproductions of some of Palmers most iconic images. This event offers you the opportunity to get up close to 11 of Samuel Palmer’s extraordinary works from his time visiting and living in Shoreham, Kent (1824 to c.1834).  Considered to be Palmer's most creative period, these artworks by the young artist were directly inspired by William Blake’s visions of paradise and by Blake's visits to the beautiful Darent Valley. Exploring the individual artworks and giving an overview of Palmer’s time in Shoreham.

Sarah Newman - curator of the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme’s ‘Samual Palmer: Visionary Landscapes’ exhibition, Jan - May 2024 in Sevenoaks and Dartford - offers an insight into Palmer’s early artistic life and the links with the Reigate etchings of his later life.'
