While the special exhibition ‘The Art of Astrid Zydower’ is going on at Adam’s Gallery, I will be running a two day ‘Expressive Etching’ workshop at Reigate Art Studios.
We start off by looking closely at Astrid's work and how she created them and then discuss individual ideas to decide what techniques are suitable for you. We will use Zinc plates to create lines and tones as well as more painterly images using lift-etching techniques.
The workshop is suitable for anyone from beginners to experienced etchers as we use non toxic B.I.G ground (Andrew Baldwin’s Etching Ground) and Copper Sulphate to etch the plate meaning that we can all work in a safer environment.
All materials are provided but do bring apron or cloth that you don’t mind getting inky, and a pack of lunch to keep you going!
